Adelaide Merchant Pty Ltd was founded in 2021 by Mr Linxing Zhao, a seasoned entrepreneur and business executive from Shanghai, China. Initially, Mr Zhao established the business to fulfil the requirements of his Australian business visa. However, his journey quickly evolved into a passionate mission—to showcase and deliver South Australia's finest produce to China and beyond.
Recognising the exceptional quality of South Australian products, Mr Zhao dedicated himself to bridging the gap between premium local producers and international markets. Despite facing significant challenges, including the post-COVID-19 economic downturn, China’s imposition of tariffs on Australian wine, and the ban on Australian seafood, he remained steadfast in his belief in the region’s world-class produce.
Committed to overcoming these obstacles, Mr Zhao has actively supported existing distributors in reselling his products while simultaneously developing new partnerships to expand the reach of South Australian goods.
